Repeat Prescriptions

We can accept repeat prescription requests by the slips provided at the surgery, make the request in writing or online.

Order your repeat prescription using our online form.

We can take your requests for repeat prescriptions online via the link above of this page to do this we will need to allocate to you a code number (PIN) which is your computer record number. Please attend the reception and tell them that you wish to be able to ask for repeats via e-mail. They will then give you your code number personally.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a Doctor, Nurse Practitioner or Practice Nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow 3 working days, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed from Shady Lane and 3 working days if ordered at our Streetly branch. Any problems please telephone the surgery on 0121 389 2222.

Electronic Prescription Service

The Electronic Prescription Service is an NHS service that sends your prescription from your GP surgery to a Pharmacy without the need for a paper copy. Nominate a pharmacy of your choice and this pharmacy will receive your prescription directly from your GP, via the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS).

With EPS you will not have to visit your practice to pick up your paper prescription anymore.

You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because you can choose a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.  You can ask any pharmacy that offers EPS or you can ask your GP practice to add your nominated pharmacy for you.

EPS is reliable, secure and confidential.

Your electronic prescription will only be seen by the same people in GP practices and pharmacies who see your paper prescription now.

All repeat prescriptions issued by The Oaks Medical Practice will be dealt with via EPS.
